He graduated from the School of Radiophysics of the Kharkov State University in 1977. As a student he began his workat the Department of Quantum Radiophysics. From 1977 to 1980 he worked as an researcher of the department. In 1980 - 1982 he served in the Soviet Army as a platoon leader in the highlands of Turkestan Military District. In 1982 he resumed his scientific work. He engaged in the research and manufacture of lasers, channel elements for plasma diagnostics .
The main direction of scientific activity lies in the study of the propagation of laser radiation in a hollow dielectric waveguides, as well as environmental monitoring.
The main results are highlighted in the 20 articles and abstracts at international conferences. Received 5 inventor's certificates.
