NIKOLAY L. POGREBNYAK
Ph.D. in Physics and Mathematics, Associate Professor

Nikolay L. Pogrebnyak was born in 1952 in Kharkov region. In 1970 he graduated from the Peski-Radkovskuyu high school. From May 1971 to June 1973 he served in the Armed Forces of the USSR, and in 1973 entered in the A.G. Gorky Kharkov state university (KSU). While studying at the day department starting from the third year worked at the Department of Quantum Radiophysics. After graduating from the School of Radiophysics of the KSU worked as an engineer of the research, research assistant of the Department of Quantum Radiophysics. To research interests in this period include laser high-resolution spectroscopy, the study of the optical stability of the laser crystals.

From 1992 to 2008, with a break for the period 1997-2001 he worked as an researcher STC "Institute of Monocrystals" of the National Academy of Sciences (NAS) of Ukraine, where in 1997 he defended his Ph.D. thesis for the degree of candidate of physical and mathematical sciences.

During this period his research interests were related to experimental studies of electron-phonon interaction in crystals. From 1997 to 2001 he worked as director in Expertise Center of the State Innovation Fund of Ukraine.

Since 2008 Nikolay L. Pogrebnyak is researcher at the Department of microwave radiospectrometry ofInstitute Radio Astronomy NAS of Ukraine. To research interests include spectroscopy of Rydberg atoms.

Since April 2015 Nikolay L. Pogrebnyak is the Associate Professor, Department of Quantum Radiophysics.
