He graduated from the School of Radiophysicsof the A. G. Gorky Kharkov state university (KSU). In 1972, after graduating from university he began working in the laboratory of accelerating technology at the Sukhumi Physical-Technical Institute. In 1979 he began working at the Department of Quantum Radiophysics the School of Radiophysics of KSU.
He worked as an senior laboratory assistant, junior assistant and research assistant.
